Artists from Austria and Slovenia accompanied the Drau, the lifeline of Carinthia and Slovenia. Doris Jauk-Hinz and Eva Ursprung worked together again, as they have done in various projects in the past, and explored the river on different levels by means of a transfer process. In line with their joint concept, they brought water in a large industrial glass container from the Drava/Danube estuary near Aljma back to the source of the Drava, from where it rejoined the natural cycle and started moving towards Croatia. The artists accompanied it on this journey with ceremonies, rituals, performances and, in particular, with a great deal of research on site all the way to Legrad. In the exhibition, they show multimedia exhibits that artistically document their multi-layered investigations into the topic of water, but also their semaphore performances in white art uniforms, creating references and scrutinising them. |
