The Asifakeil becomes a showplace of visual perception of movement through technical extensions of vision. The movement of the moment in the zoetrope is contrasted with the insight into the movement in the snapshot. The animation of the moment: The eye basically recognizes the moment, but adds it up into a series. We derive the perception and shaping of time from a series of moments. The dynamization of the moment: The zoetrope is an early technical medium that artificially transfers moments into a perceptible temporal form. The individual moment is suppressed, thereby generating dynamics, an event in time. The moment of dynamics: The photograph is an early technical medium that artificially extracts the moment from dynamic events. Time is suppressed and the individual moment is generated. We only recognize meaning from the sum of the moments - by perceiving them from the given series of moments in the zoetrope or by thinking of a before and after from the representation of the moment in the photograph. The zoetrope* originates from the exploration of movement and in the Asifakeil stands objectively for its application to animate the moment. The snapshots were taken during a 3-month stay as Artist in Residence in Canada (UMAS, Durham). The chosen position for the creation of the snapshots, always from the side, made it possible to depict the dynamics of the moment. At that time, the focus was on exploring the socio-cultural habitats of women and recording cultural inscriptions in cities of varying sizes - from the 2500 inhabitant community to the multicultural megacity of Toronto.
